About the collection
Col. George E. Monarch, III (ret) USMC, had a passion for hunting and the firearms he chose to acquire over the years. These firearms range from Large Game Rifles to Hand Guns and all have been maintained meticulously. This collection includes Al Biesen, Gary Goudy, Maurice Ottmar Rifles, and many more. All firearms will be sold as shown. We are required to ship firearms to a dealer with an FFL, as designated by the buyer, so that they can execute the appropriate paperwork in order to comply with Federal licensing requirements. Transfer fees are to be paid by the buyer upon receipt from the designated dealer.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Mr. Stuart Satterlee of Satterlee Arms in Deadwood, SD. We appreciate your willingness to travel to our home and spend your time appraising this collection. Please visit Satterlee Arms at Home (satterleearmsrifles.com)
A Message from Stuart Satterlee:
Over the course of six working days, my job and utmost privilege was to inspect, document, photograph, and appraise the late George Monarch’s firearm collection.
This collection represents over four and one half decades of steadfast dedication to the art of American high end custom riflery.
It is my opinion the rifles contained in this collection are of the finest quality with unparalleled American pedigree as it relates to artisans, Al and Roger Biesen, Gary Goudy, Maurice Ottmar, Griffin & Howe, and others that George was working with at the time of his passing such as Roy Bedeau, Rusty McGee, and myself.
We invite you to take an evening and page thru this collection. I think you’ll find at least one or more to add to your own firearms legacy.
Sincerely,
Stuart Satterlee
